Joshua Rovner

Associate Editor

Joshua Rovner is an associate professor in the School of International Studies at American University, where he teaches courses on strategy, intelligence, and international affairs. He is the author of Fixing the Facts: National Security and the Politics of Intelligence (Cornell University Press, 2011), which won the International Studies Association best book award for security studies and the Edgar S. Furniss Book Award. He also is co-editor of Chaos in the Liberal Order: The Trump Presidency and International Politics in the 21st Century (Columbia University Press, 2018); and The Liberal Order Strikes Back? Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and the Future of International Politics (Columbia University Press, forthcoming). In addition to his academic work, Rovner writes a regular column at War on the Rocks. In 2018-2019, he served as scholar-in-residence at the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command.
